Persons involved in the provision of civil aviation security services must have the statutory training approved by the competent authority. Aviation security relies largely on security screeners who are responsible for security duties related to passengers, baggage, staff, vehicles, equipment and air cargo. Training is also mandatory for all persons involved in access control and other similar security surveillance duties, as well as for those responsible for implementing security controls, such as security managers and persons responsible for cargo security.
The Finnish Transport Safety Agency approves private security training organisations and also provides security training itself.
