Registration

The Transport Safety Agency (Trafi) is in charge of vehicle registration and maintains the Vehicle Register. Trafi arranges vehicle registration by obtaining the necessary services from their providers, i.e. contractual registration authorities.

Vehicles are registered at inspection sites, insurance companies, car dealerships and finance companies. Private customers can also perform registration-related tasks online. Trafi itself does not perform registrations apart from registrations for diplomatic vehicles.
