Equipment referred to in the Decree on marine equipment (925/1998) and installed or fitted on board Finnish ships after the entry into force of the Decree must meet the requirements specified in international conventions and the resolutions and circulars of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in as provided in the Directive on marine equipment (96/98/EC)
The authority responsible for the approval of marine equipment on board Finnish ships is the Finnish Transport Safety Agency.
